Buildings of this age are susceptible to concrete spalling and John was very aware of the maintenance and planning necessary to keep the building in first-class condition, and advised us accordingly. John managed our block of 26 town houses for over eight years and for many of those years, I was the Chairman of the Owners Executive.
Our complex was somewhat unusual in that the Owners Corporation Executive was abnormally active and was made up of 9 unit holders. Additionally, we insisted on meeting at 3 monthly intervals, and at our convenience the meetings were held in the evening.
Despite John's extremely heavy workload, he always made himself available for those meetings, and never indicated that this was a chore. I was always conscious that we were amongst the few Strata scheme's who asked for, and received this service.
John managed our block exceedingly well. Over the years he guided us through special levies for sewer repairs, fences and exterior painting.
He assisted me greatly in giving sound advice and demonstrated great patience and compassion in dealing with the aberrant behaviour of more than one resident in the complex.
